"Return to Flight" Information:

NASA will return Space Shuttles to flight with a mission on the Shuttle Discovery this spring. The STS-114 is the first Shuttle mission since the Columbia accident in February 2003.
The crew includes Commander Eileen Collins, Pilot Jim Kelly, Mission Specialists Soichi Noguchi, Steve Robinson, Andy Thomas, Wendy Lawrence and Charlie Camarda. The crew will fly Discovery to the International Space Station.
The mission is the first of two test flights to verify new inspection and repair techniques, and to deliver supplies to the Station. Discovery has a launch window from May 15 to June 3.
But Return to Flight is more than a single mission. It launches a new era of human exploration that's far-reaching but focused, ambitious but affordable. Return to Flight illustrates NASA's ability to learn from mistakes and its determination to prevent new ones. And it pays tribute to a crew of seven brave astronauts on the Space Shuttle Columbia, who two years ago gave their lives in the pursuit of the knowledge that comes from exploration.
